THE FIRST LEGAL RETREAT FOR ALABAMA'S SPECIAL EDUCATION COORDINATORS WAS A LOT OF FUN AND A SUCCESSFUL LEARNING EXPERIENCE!
STAY TUNED FOR INFORMATION REGARDING THE NEXT LEGAL RETREAT COMING SOON!
Description of the Legal Retreat Concept
The Legal Retreats are specifically for Special Education Coordinators and are held at locations that facilitate a laid-back and relaxed atmosphere, while allowing for an extensive amount of input from and collaboration between Coordinators. The Retreat is typically a day and 1/2, beginning on an afternoon and concluding the next day. The first Retreat was held at Cheaha State Park in Delta, Alabama on January 23 and 24, 2012. The Retreat tuition includes all Retreat activities and materials prepared by Julie, meals/snacks and one night's lodging at the Retreat site.
This Retreat is not intended to be a "conference" or typical "presentation" by Julie. Rather (and for those who may remember the "Multi-systems Retreats" we used to have at Guntersville State Park), it is designed to be a working Retreat where Coordinators will be able to share information and engage in hands-on problem solving and strategy development for dealing with difficult legal situations. Because of the nature of this Retreat, registration is limited to 30 people.
You Create the Agenda!
Upon confirmation of registration and payment, Registrants will be contacted by RISE and asked to submit suggestions for Agenda items to be covered at the Retreat. Julie collects and sorts through all suggestions and sends out a preliminary Agenda for Registrants to review and approve prior to the Retreat!
